3:02 PM Discussion About the Work the Lord Will Do at His Return (II) |
Is Judgment Work Done by the Lord at His Return the Condemnation or Salvation to Us?
We left the question "What work the Lord will do when He returns?" and some brothers and sisters shared their understandings in the comments. Thank the Lord! Let’s seek this aspect of truth together today.
The Lord Jesus said: "I have yet many things to say to you, but you cannot bear them now. However, when He, the Spirit of truth, is come, He will guide you into all truth" (John 16:12-13). 1 Peter 4:17 says: "For the time is come that judgment must begin at the house of God." From these verses, we see that the Lord will express the truth and do the work of judgment when He returns. When it comes to judgment, most people feel afraid and think God's judgment is the condemnation to us. If God's judgment were condemnation, then wouldn't we all die? How could God save us?
God's words say: "Through what is God's perfection of man accomplished? Through His righteous disposition. God's disposition primarily consists of righteousness, wrath, majesty, judgment, and curse, and His perfection of man is primarily through judgment. Some people don't understand, and ask why it is that God is only able to make man perfect through judgment and curse. They say, 'If God were to curse man, wouldn't man die? If God were to judge man, wouldn't man be condemned? Then how can he still be made perfect?' Such are the words of people who do not know the work of God. What God curses is the disobedience of man, and what He judges are the sins of man. Although He speaks harshly, and without the slightest sensitivity, He reveals all that is within man, and through these stern words He reveals that which is essential within man, yet through such judgment, He gives man a profound knowledge of the essence of the flesh, and thus man submits to obedience before God."
We can see from God's words: God does judgment work by expressing the words and revealing our sinful natures; this way, we can know the root of our sins and stop sinning and become the people truly obeying and loving God. Only if we accept God's judgment can we have the chance to get rid of sins and become purified and enter the kingdom of heaven. So, God's judgment is the greatest salvation to us, the deepest love for us. Then, how should we experience God's judgment work to thoroughly get rid of sins and enter the kingdom of heaven?
